Harris Regional Hospital welcomes new women’s care provider

SYLVA, FRANKLIN, BRYSON CITY (March 2019) – Harris Regional Hospital is pleased to welcome Tracy Nims, MD to Harris Women’s Care. Nims will be joining the expert team of women’s care providers serving western North Carolina with locations in Jackson, Swain, and Macon counties.
Dr. Nims joins Harris Regional Hospital from Franklin Healthcare for Women in Franklin, Tennessee. Dr. Nims has been caring for women since 1994 with proven experience in preventive care, gynecologic surgery, high risk obstetrics and the full spectrum of OB/GYN care.
Dr. Nims received her Doctor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. She completed a Bachelor of Science from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina and has served as an OB/GYN since 1994 bringing years of expertise and passion to the women and growing families of western North Carolina.
Nims joins Sabine Kelischek, MD, Megan Metcalf, MD, Alvin Strasburger, MD, Sally Inglesby-Schaefer, CNM, Judy Layton, CNM, Anne Karner, CNM, Darci Walker, CNM and Kathy Walsh, NP at Harris Women’s Care with locations in Sylva, Bryson City and Franklin.
The New Generations Family Birthing Center at Harris Regional Hospital recently completed a $5.5 million renovation which features new rooms, nursing stations, updated technology, and a C-section suite on the unit.
