Ashley Hindman | Chief Executive Officer
Ashley Hindman serves as chief executive officer for Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital. Since assuming the role in 2024, he has led strategic growth, service line expansion and operational advancement across both hospitals while supporting the mission of making communities healthier throughout Western North Carolina. Previously, Hindman served as chief financial officer beginning in 2019.
With extensive experience in healthcare finance, operations and executive leadership, he works closely with providers, hospital leaders and community partners to strengthen access to care, support financial stewardship and advance long-term organizational growth. Hindman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from The Citadel and a Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Rebekah Artman, MBA, BSN, RN, CCRN, CPPS | Chief Nursing Officer
Rebekah Artman serves as chief nursing officer for Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital, overseeing nursing operations across both facilities. A native of Robbinsville, North Carolina, she began her healthcare career at Harris Regional Hospital in 2007 as a certified nursing assistant while attending nursing school and has since advanced through numerous clinical and leadership roles within Lifepoint Health.
Artman has extensive experience in nursing operations, patient safety, workforce development and evidence-based care. Before returning to Harris and Swain, she served as assistant chief nursing officer at Frye Regional Medical Center and Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. Her leadership and commitment to nursing excellence continue to strengthen patient-centered care across Western North Carolina.
Stephen Plemmons, MSN, RN | Market Vice President of Operations
Stephen Plemmons serves as market vice president of operations for Harris Regional Hospital, Haywood Regional Medical Center and Swain Community Hospital, providing operational leadership across the three Duke LifePoint hospitals serving Western North Carolina.
Before assuming his current role, Plemmons served as senior nursing officer for Harris Regional and Swain Community hospitals and previously as senior director of special care and emergency services and administrator of Swain Community Hospital. His leadership has focused on operational excellence, patient safety and strategic growth. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Western Carolina University.
Alfred A. Mina, MD, FACS | Market Chief Medical Officer
Alfred A. Mina, MD, FACS serves as chief medical officer for Haywood Regional Medical Center, Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital, providing clinical leadership across all three Duke LifePoint hospitals in Western North Carolina.
A board-certified rural surgeon and physician leader with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Mina leads initiatives focused on patient safety, quality improvement, physician engagement and operational excellence. In addition to his executive leadership responsibilities, he serves as site director for the MAHEC surgery residency program and the UNC School of Medicine Asheville campus, helping educate and mentor the next generation of rural physicians.
Amanda Pruitt Motley | Chief Financial Officer
Amanda Pruitt Motley joins Haywood Regional Medical Center from Highpoint Health System in Tennessee, where she previously served as interim market CFO. During her time as interim market CFO at Highpoint Health System, Motley oversaw forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance for a 227 bed, three hospital system. Prior to her role as interim CFO, Motley served as CFO for Riverview Medical Center and Trousdale Medical Center, directing the executive leadership of finance, supply chain, and revenue departments for two critical access facilities. Motley has served in several capacities across Lifepoint Health including roles as a financial analyst, director of finance, and controller before her promotion to chief financial officer.
Jason Godfrey | Senior Financial Officer
Jason Godfrey serves as Market Senior Financial Officer for Harris Regional Hospital, Haywood Regional Medical Center, and Swain Community Hospital. With 16 years of service across the market, he has held a variety of finance and decision support leadership roles, most recently as Market Director of Finance. Recognized for his innovative approach to financial and clinical reporting, Jason helps leaders make data-driven decisions that strengthen operational performance and resource stewardship. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Western Carolina University and is deeply committed to serving the communities of western North Carolina.
