Harris Regional’s Tree of Hope invites community to honor, remember loved ones

Harris Regional Hospital will host its annual Tree of Hope Breast Cancer Survivor and Memorial Event on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the main lobby of Harris Medical Park, 98 Doctors Drive in Sylva. Guests are welcome to stop by at any time during the event, with brief remarks and the lighting of the Tree of Hope taking place at 1 p.m.
Held in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will bring community members together for refreshments, fellowship, and a time of honor and remembrance.
The Tree of Hope will remain on display in the Harris Medical Park lobby throughout the month of October. Community members are invited to add the name of a loved one to the tree in honor of a breast cancer survivor or in memory of someone whose life was touched by breast cancer.
The drop-in event is open to everyone, and no RSVP is required. Harris Regional Hospital invites breast cancer survivors, families, friends, and community members to attend and take part in this meaningful Breast Cancer Awareness Month tradition.
Early detection can make an important difference in breast cancer outcomes, making routine screening a critical part of women’s health. Harris Regional Hospital encourages women to talk with their healthcare provider about when and how often they should be screened based on their age, personal history, and individual risk factors.
