‘Smoky Streak to Health’ free 5K/10K

WEBSTER – Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital are pleased to announce the ‘Smoky Streak to Health’ free 5K/10K event open to the community. The Smoky Streak to Health will be held Saturday, October 12 with parking and registration at Webster Baptist Church. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Races begin at 9 a.m. following routes along the Tuckasegee River. A ‘walk for wellness’ will also occur for walkers.
“The Smoky Streak historically was an annual event occurring each fall for many years. We are excited to bring the event back to the community as ‘The Smoky Streak to Health’ to celebrate our hospitals’ mission of Making Communities Healthier,” said Steve Heatherly, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital and Swain Community Hospital.
Registration is free for all participants. The first 200 people will receive a free Smoky Streak to Health t-shirt. Running divisions include male and female ages 10 & under, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, and 70 & over. Awards and prizes include best overall male and female and the top three age division winners for each distance.
