Harris Regional Hospital Hosts Free Lunch & Learn Focused on Diabetes and Nutrition
June 30, 2025
Harris Regional Hospital will host a free Lunch & Learn for the community on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Easton Board Room, offering an engaging and informative conversation on diabetes and the role of nutrition in daily health.
The event will be presented by Christopher Zion, HHS Culinary and Nutrition Solutions Director for both Harris Regional and Swain Community Hospitals. With a focus on real-life application, Zion will discuss how simple, thoughtful food choices can help manage diabetes, support blood sugar stability, and contribute to overall well-being.
Participants will leave with practical tips on building healthier meals, understanding how food impacts the body, and incorporating sustainable habits into their routines.
“Offering events like this helps us connect with our community in meaningful ways,” said Ashley Hindman, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital. “Diabetes education is vital, and when we can deliver that education in a setting that’s welcoming and easy to understand, we make it easier for people to take charge of their health.”
The Lunch & Learn is open to all—whether you're living with diabetes, supporting a loved one, or simply curious about how to make better food choices.
A complimentary lunch will be provided, and seating is limited.
