Harris Regional Hospital to Host Free Lunch & Learn on Vein Health May 27th
May 07, 2026
Harris Regional Hospital will host a free community Lunch & Learn on vein health Wednesday, May 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the hospital's Private Dining Room.
General surgeon and vein specialist Dr. Al Mina will lead the session, entitled Supporting Healthy Veins. The presentation will cover how veins support circulation, the warning signs of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and when to seek medical care.
Chronic venous insufficiency is a common but often overlooked condition that occurs when leg veins struggle to return blood to the heart, leading to symptoms such as swelling, aching, and varicose veins. Early recognition can help prevent complications.
The event is open to the public, and lunch will be provided. A virtual option is also available for those unable to attend in person.
Harris Regional Hospital is located at 68 Hospital Road, Sylva, NC 28779. To RSVP, call 828-508-0109 or email lillian.ferguson@lifepointhealth.net.
