Harris Regional Hospital EMS recognizes clinicians for life-saving cardiac arrest outcomes

April 17, 2026

Harris Regional Hospital EMS (Harris EMS) is recognizing the life-saving efforts of local emergency personnel following two cardiac arrest cases in the first quarter of 2026 that resulted in survival with positive neurological outcomes.

The outcomes reflect the impact of rapid response, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and coordinated care across emergency services and hospital teams.

In recognition of these efforts, Harris EMS leaders awarded 10 Certificates of Commendation – Lifesaver Awards to first responders who played a direct role in the care of these patients. The Lifesaver Award honors individuals whose actions contributed to saving or preserving a human life that would likely have been lost without immediate intervention.

Survival from cardiac arrest with favorable neurological function is considered one of the most meaningful benchmarks in emergency medical services, highlighting both clinical performance and teamwork across the continuum of care.

“These outcomes reflect the professionalism, training, and dedication of our EMS clinicians and local first responders with whom we are proud to partner,” said Ashley Hindman, chief executive officer of Harris Regional Hospital. “Their commitment to delivering high-quality care makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the citizens we serve.”

Harris Regional Hospital encourages the community to join in recognizing these clinicians for their service and commitment to patient care.
