Harris Regional Hospital to host annual free sports physicals April 30 at Smoky Mountain High School
April 07, 2026
Harris Regional Hospital will partner with Jackson County Public Schools to host its annual free sports physicals event on Thursday, April 30, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Smoky Mountain High School gym.
The event is open to all middle and high school student-athletes in Jackson County Public Schools, including rising students, who need a physical for participation in upcoming sports seasons. No pre-registration is required, and students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Each year, the event provides a convenient opportunity for students to complete required physicals in a single location ahead of the school year. More than 150 students participated in last year’s event, and volunteer medical providers will again be on site to conduct physicals.
“We’re proud to partner with Jackson County Public Schools to support student-athletes and help ensure they are ready for a safe and active season,” said Ashley Hindman, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital.
Sports physicals are required for participation in school athletics and help ensure students are healthy and prepared for the upcoming season.
For more information, students and families are encouraged to speak with Athletic Director, Thomas Young, ahead of the event.
