Harris Regional Hospital to Host Free Breast Cancer 'Lunch & Learn' at WCU October 17
October 01, 2025
Harris Regional Hospital invites community members to a free Lunch & Learn on Friday, October 17, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Western Carolina University’s Ramsey Center Hospitality Room.
The session—led by Jonathan Dean, MD, general surgeon—will focus on breast cancer awareness, highlighting the life-saving value of early detection, practical steps for understanding personal risk factors, and the important role of community support in guiding patients and families through care.
Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers among women in the United States, touching the lives of families in every community. Early detection through routine screenings and an awareness of risk can make a significant difference in outcomes.
This Lunch & Learn creates space for open discussion, up-to-date education, and shared resources, so participants leave not only with information but also with a clearer sense of how to prioritize their health and support those around them.
The event is free and open to the public, with lunch provided.
