19 Harris Regional Hospital employees earn CMA certification through onsite training

July 30, 2025

Harris Regional Hospital is proud to announce that 19 staff members across its employed physician clinics have earned their credentials as Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), following the successful completion of a career development program held onsite in partnership with WNC Edutech.

WNC Edutech, a North Carolina-based education provider, offers hands-on training and national certification preparation in high-demand medical and IT fields. The organization brought its Clinical Medical Assistant program directly to the clinic sites, allowing participants to train while continuing their vital work in patient care. All 19 team members became certified medical assistants through the onsite training, strengthening local access to skilled clinical care without requiring participants to leave the region.

“We’re proud to support our team members in advancing their careers and growing within our organization,” said Ashley Hindman, CEO of Harris Regional Hospital. “Their achievement benefits not only their own professional journey, but also the strong, consistent care we provide across all our clinics. We appreciate WNC Edutech for helping make this opportunity a reality.”
