Harris Regional Hospital to Host Free Lunch & Learn on Vein Health and CVI Symptoms
July 29, 2025
Harris Regional Hospital invites community members to attend a free Lunch & Learn on Tuesday, August 26, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Easton Board Room. A virtual option will also be available for those who wish to join remotely.
The session will be led by Al Mina, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Harris Regional Hospital, Haywood Regional Medical Center, and Swain Community Hospital, who will provide an informative discussion on vein health, with a focus on chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), its symptoms, and how vein function impacts overall wellness.
“Many people live with symptoms like leg swelling, heaviness, or fatigue without realizing that vein dysfunction may be the cause,” said Dr. Mina. “This Lunch & Learn is designed to help attendees recognize the signs of CVI and understand what treatment options are available. Awareness is the first step to prevention and care.”
Conditions like CVI are often underdiagnosed. Understanding how our circulatory system works, and what happens when it doesn’t, can help individuals take a more proactive role in their long-term health.
“This is a great opportunity for our community to hear directly from one of our region’s most respected physician leaders,” said Ashley Hindman, CEO of Harris Regional and Swain Community Hospitals. “Dr. Mina’s clinical insight and approachable style help bring important topics like vein health into everyday understanding.”
Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees, and all participants, both in person and virtual, will have the opportunity to ask questions during the session.
