Meet Your Lactation Consultants

Angela Parker, BSN, IBCLC

Angela ‘Angie’ Parker received her BSN from Western Carolina University and has worked in the mother and baby department at Harris Regional Hospital since 2001. Angie is one of Harris Regional Hospital’s International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).

“I love the miracle of birth, and the opportunity to watch families grow and evolve. Being a lactation consultant is near and dear to my heart because I cherish the opportunity I have to work one on one with moms who may be struggling with breastfeeding like I did when I had my children. Through my personal experience, education, and passion I am able to provide multiple opportunities to help them reach their breastfeeding goals.”

Brandi Nations, IBCLC

Brandi is a mother of three and one of our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants and also a Certified Lactation Counselor. She received her Bachelor of Science in Maternal Child Health: Lactation Consulting from Union Institute & University in 2016. Brandi is active in the community with coordinating breastfeeding outreach events as well as serving on state and regional breastfeeding coalition boards.

“As a first time mother living in an isolated part of rural Georgia, I struggled greatly with breastfeeding and lacked accessible resources for breastfeeding support. When I had my second child and was able to meet my breastfeeding goals with the help of a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, I knew I wanted to be able to help make sure no other mother ever experienced the struggles I did. I wanted to be able to help on a clinical level and ensure that breastfeeding became the norm in care settings and communities.”
